Mashed Potatoes

Homeschool Graduate Success Story….

Mark E. Keller, a homeschool graduate in southwestern Wisconsin, created the artwork for a new children’s book, “Mashed Potatoes: A Little Brother Story” by Graham Koens.

The book has just been published and is available for purchase at the CreateSpace eStore.

In the story, Little Brother, called L.B. for short, learns the value of self-discipline and that disobedience has a price.

The lesson that one’s parents really do know best, and that “you really CAN have too much of a good thing” is told in an amusing way with creative and inventive illustrations.

The authors say,

“We’re fortunate to be working with a talented young illustrator, Mark E. Keller, who has created some amazing artwork for Mashed Potatoes.

Our goal is for Mashed Potatoes to be a huge success so we can continue working with him on more Little Brother books in the future.”

For a sneak peek of the art of Little Brother in Mashed Potatoes, check out the author’s blog, or facebook.

Better yet, tell your local librarian or book seller about the book,  and see if they would be interested in one or both of the authors doing a book signing or read-aloud session.

  1. Hi there! I’m the “Graham” half of this book and thought I would stop by to say hello and thanks for the write up! You might be interested to know that I am also a homeschool graduate from down here in East Tennessee (homeschooled K-12), and my husband (the Koens part) was homeschooled for 2 years while growing up in Peru, South America. Yay for being homeschooled! Again, thanks for the mention – we are so pleased with Mark’s work! He’s very talented!
