Tri-County Athletics offers an opportunity for elementary through high school students to play competitive team sports. Players come from a variety of backgrounds – public, private, and homeschool students have played on Tri-County teams. Headquartered in the Westby/Viroqua area, and playing school and church teams throughout the general areas of La Crosse, Monroe, Vernon, Richland, and Crawford Counties, Tri-County is already planning the 2014-2015 season with Girls Volleyball and Boys and Girls Basketball.
An Informational Parent Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 6:30 PM at Grace Church in Viroqua.
This meeting will cover policies, fees, the need for more coaches, and fundraising.
One important change for this year has to do with the fundraising projects to benefit families through reduced player fees. Parents and players will now be responsible for coordinating and working those projects. There is an IMPORTANT “fundraiser team” meeting on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10 AM at the Bloomingdale Community Center for everyone interested in structuring the who, what, and where of these fundraising efforts. Without sufficient parental and player support, there may not be any fundraisers to reduce player fees. Last year, TCA actually lost money trying to help families with player fees because they reduced more from the fees than was brought in through fundraisers.
If your son or daughter plays basketball there will still be the mandatory fundraising hours at The GYM, working the concession and admission stands.
As always, please forward this to ANYONE you think might be interested in Tri-County Athletics club sports.
