Spotlight Academy of Dramatic Arts – La Crosse

The Pump House has a  new program, that if there’s enough interest from the homeschooling community, they would be willing to set up special times to accommodate schedules.  They also said, “these sessions are skills based, rather than performance based.  The focus is not on rehearsing for a performance but rather to develop self-expression, working successfully with others, building self-confidence and other skills that we all need every day – as well as on stage.”

Spotlight Academy of Dramatic Arts
is a new collaborative offering of the Pump House, La Crosse Community Theatre and area performing arts professionals.   Spotlight Academy offers instruction in dramatic arts for ages 8 to adult.
For young people, each seven-week session will conclude with a Spotlight Showcase, sharing the growth and creativity of every participant.

For adults, each workshop will be a self-contained one-day experience. Academy students will gain an appreciation of theatre arts, as well as a deeper understanding of the importance of teamwork, discipline, focus and commitment, all while having fun with their peers.

Students will also benefit from an enhanced sense of self-image and confidence while they foster self-expression and develop creative acting skills.
